I managed to dig these out from elsewhere on the boards, after Googling.
Thanks to V for the originals.

Dido- concert Berlin, July 26th 2004
So I got up early the next morning and went back to the trainstation that had become really familar to me by now. I went there early enough to still have time for the one hour photo thing so I could finally get my Dido pictures !!! They turned out to be great! Well, Dido was great in them, I looked a bit confused and Lucy looked in the other direction, but anyway I was getting so excited over them that I ran to buy some college paper and an envelope so i could write Dido another letter while I was on the train.
So that way the time passed rather quickly, too. I hope she could read it all because my writing was rather crappy because of all the rumbling and all... But she apparently did because I asked her about it in Cologne ... So by the time I arrived at Zoo station, I had finished my second letter to Dido. I don't remember what exactly I wrote, but it was mainly a two-pages long Thankyou, telling her how much it meant to me that she knew my name and all and I also apologized for acting rather weird at the hotel.
I then had to find my way to the venue which wasn't too hard because there were enough people to ask how to get there.
It didn't take me too long to find it and when I did, it looked really nice. The Dido busses were there already, but they had not even put up the barriers which I found a bit stressful because I didn't know where to wait. It was still really early, about noon, and the securities scared me even more, saying they weren't going to put up the barriers until four!!! I know it sounds weird, but I was really tense all the time because I was worried I might be waiting in the wrong spot and everyone would be let in before me! Around three, two sisters arrived and they told me they had been to an Alanis concert a couple of weeks earlier and the securities had totally messed it all up, by opening one gate way earlier than the other so by then I was about to pass out!
But they then started to tell us to move back because they were putting up the gates and I just kept hoping they were not opening another one before ours. There was this huge downpour again at some point, but luckily, it didn't last too long. We still had a while to wait so these two girls told me about how they had been huge Michael Jackson fans when his history album was released and that they had gone to New York and other places to see him and they told me they had started waiting at venues like two days before the concerts One of them said she still had 3000 Euro of debts to pay off because she had had to borrow so much money to travel after MICHAEL JACKSON Now that made me feel a whole lot less crazy !!!
So when the gates finally opened, we all ran for the front. And it was quite a long and dangerous run because it was downhill a concrete street and I was so sure I was gonna stumble and hit my head or something, but luckily I didn't. So just a second after I had reached my dear front row spot, Mark came up to me to say hi I gave him my new letter and my pics of Dido and me and Dido and Lucy so he could ask Dido to sign them for me. Which she did I had them back within five minutes and my picture of Lucy and Dido says "To Anne and Lucy, Love Dido xx" That's just so cute When Mark left, he forgot his coke which I actually never told him, but we finished it When Dido came on stage, she smiled at me right away, which made me all happy and the Michael Jackson fans were really happy for me too because apparently Michael had never done that. I guess he was too busy dancing. Anyway, I wished I could think of something to scream again, but I couldn't so I was just doing the plain screaming and Dido went "That's some loud screaming you got there, Anne" So nice again I quickly talked to Mark again after the show, just to tell him that I had to go back to Zoo station really quickly to catch my night train to Cologne that was gonna leave in 2 hours or so. So all Mark had to say to that was that I was really crazy. He didn't think it was such a good idea to get onto a nigh train, I assume, but I didn't really have a choice, so we went "See you tomorrow" and I left - but not without getting a nice blue Dido tracksuit top first I don't know why I didn't try to meet Dido again after the show, but I guess I thought she was going to leave just as quickly again. So I went to the station to wait on my train. And I got myself a way overpriced trainstation sandwich because that was the first time I realized I hadn't eaten anything all day!

Dido- concert Brussels, Autumn 2004
I got up at some ridiculous time and trekked it to the station with my Bergen! While I was there I sent that message to Charlie about it not mattering that it was cold and wet and early and that we were the only people up ‘cause it was Dido time! So that made me smile. I was on the early London Paddington train with all the business people with their laptops and intelligent newspapers. They sat in their suits looking at me with my big bag as if I wasn’t good enough to be on their train! Did my head in a bit, but it made me laugh ‘cause when this guy wanted the seat next to me (he didn’t ask like any normal person, he just stood looking at my bag and then looking around at the rest of his business kind!) anyway, I had to move my bag under the seat, but it didn’t fit very well. I ended up kneeling on the floor trying to get it in which is fair enough, and all these people were giving me such dirty looks! I was just like, “Sorry for being alive!! I won’t try to help next time!!” I didn’t say that, I just thought it, then I just thought, f*** them, I’m gonna see Dido soon!!! Not that anyone even tried to help me! Should have let him sit on the floor with his laptop! See how he liked that! And it’s young people who are meant to be rude these days! Grrrr!!!!!
So I met Charlie at Waterloo and we got the Euro star which was all very exciting ‘cause I was listening to Dido all the way and psyching myself up!! We went straight to the venue once we’d found our hotel and I think we got there at about 2.30 pm. I went looking for the door Dido would go through and spoke to some English driver who wasn’t terrible friendly! Anyway, it was a bit confusing ‘cause there were 2 different doors and we didn’t know if Dido still had the same black bus. After I’d found that out I went back round to the front and found Iva, Hana and Ginny which was nice! While we were waiting in the line we caught up on everything, and as usual it went really fast! We also met Markus who is a German fan on the boards. I went for a wander and found this guy from the record company who had gone to give Dido a prize for selling lots of records. He said she didn’t know him and they’d never met, but it was still cool to talk to him! We didn’t get to see Dido go in or leave after because of the door confusion!
When the doors opened we got through the usual stress of running to the front and got there! The support guy was ok, but I think I preferred Phoenix and Aqualung! Before Dido came on this little girl pushed her way to the front and ended up next to us. (You can find a picture of her in Charlie’s review!) Even though she didn’t speak English and we didn’t speak whatever she was we didn’t talk to her but she was definitely getting excited with us!
Ok, these are the bits I like writing about most. They make me smile lots!! So, The show was it’s usual amazing self. It’s SO great when Dido notices us at the front and it’s like she was just glancing past then she sees you and smiles (ahhhh!!! Writing this is making me so excited and happy I’m nearly crying!!) and then doesn’t look away as soon as she was going to ‘cause she’s acknowledging you! So At waterloo station I’d bought some particularly nice spotty socks from Accessorize! I wrote my usual message and threw it on stage. Sometimes Dido doesn’t pick it up, in fact this is only the second time she has, sometimes she misses it and sometimes I get it to her in other ways! But tonight I threw it on and she picked it up and said, “most people get knickers,…but I get, a sock!” while she was saying it she was looking out at everyone and glancing at me ’cause she knew I’d thrown it! I was just screaming the whole time and she was smiling ’cause I was getting all excited that she’d picked it up! It’s really funny, Dido said that the first time she got my sock in October 2003 at one big weekend in Cardiff! A year later she says exactly the same! Yay, she’s the best . Charlie seemed to think it would be a good idea to shout “Rooooonneeey!” to Dido. I didn’t want to be that mean, but I had so much fun watching the football this year during Euro thing and shouting that with a load of drunk guys that I thought it might be quite funny. I thought that Dido would understand that we just wanted her know we were there and we loved her and wanted to make an English kinda joke to her! So I shouted it, and She looked in my direction and was like, “Ouch!!”. I was really excited that she’d heard but then I was just like “Yeah but I love you! I’m sorry!” So anyway, he carried on with the set and then (this is really really cool ) she’d walk past me and look at me in like an angry affectionate way for shouting it! That was SO ACE!!! Dido was p*ssed off but she knew I still loved her and was looking at me in SUCH a cool way! Like she as acting p*ssed off, but not mad ‘cause she knows I didn’t mean it and love her lots and lots really! Wow can’t stop smiling!
There were different points during the night where she looked at us and was singing to us and she was singing to us during thank you! It was very exciting jumping to take my hand in my usual way, ‘cause the whole crowd were jumping too!! (nothing’s gonna compare to jumping with Dido smiling at me in Cardiff though…I’ve got that smiling face again…like if I smiled any more I’d be crying! That was SUCH a WICKED thing!) Anyway, back to Brussels! Towards the end I shouted “I love you!” which is the usual thing that I shout, lol, but Dido said back, “I love you too." Yay. That was ACE .
During thank you at the “and then you handed me a towel” part Keith picked up a towel and threw it at Alex! That was really funny!
After the show we said hi to Keith and then went back to out hotel and ate crisps on crackers! Haha. That was a joint effort of all the things we’d brought with us, but we managed to get a meal out of it! Charlie never brings food, lol, we always share my cheese sandwiches! hahaha…
I’m not gonna write much about the next day, ‘cause Charlie’s review has all the details and the pictures! Like he said, we went round chocolate shops then went out for a DIDO PARTAY!!!!!! I was feeling really loving, after my Duvels, so I was just hugging everyone lots ‘cause I don’t get the chance to see them that often! Basically, I was just so happy about Dido, and to be with all my Dido people.
The next morning me and Charlie had to get up early to get to Paris so before I went to breakfast I went to wake them all up! I ran to their room (‘cause like, that horrible feeling doesn’t hit you when you first wake up…*shudder* …lol ) and banged on the door. Hana opened it and didn’t look too mad at me, Iva just looked at me and rolled over and I don’t think Ginny even moved. So that was all very amusing! We said bye then were on our way….!
So! That was Brussels! I had an ace time.

Dido- concert Cologne, July 27th 2004
So I got onto my night train to Cologne at around 1 am or so. I was lucky because it wasn't too crowded so I got into this compartment with an elderly couple that looked a bit scary. Like that old man in Poltergeist 2 with his wife They looked like they were on some scary religious campaign, but maybe I was just making it up because I was all sleepy. I was lucky enough to get some sleep on the train and when I woke up, about an hour before we arrived in Cologne, they were gone, but I was still alive and all my stuff was still with me so everything was good When I finally arrived in Cologne, it was about 7 am. So it certainly was a bit too early to go to the venue! I found out they have pretty cool washrooms at the trainstation that you can only use if you pay for them, so they were really clean and I was all excited because I got to brush my teeth I then decided to lock my stuff up, go find an internet café to check the Dido message board and then go to the venue, never mind the time. I did find an internet café so I managed to post a quick update and also to check the Tour Diary and see orange me in there !!! I then went to the venue to wait. Which was at about 9 am But the clouds vanished and it turned out to be a really nice day. So I just lay outside the gate, using my bag as pillow and I fell asleep DUH ! Only for half and hour or so, but it was enough to get sunburned Never mind that I still had to spend all day waiting in the sun so by the end of that day, my face was all red. It was quite a while until more people showed up to wait. One of the was Steffi whom I met again in Brixton three weeks later Another one was Ulrich who came up to me, asking whether I was "Mark's Anne" because he ad read about me in the diary! That was really funny! He is also the one who later won Dido's signed candle in the caption comp btw. I then met Fernanda who asked whether I had been in Munich and whether I was the one who had talked to Dido during that show, which I agreed I was. Fernanda later went to Brixton with us, too. And then there was this guy who's name I don't know, but he had been one of the people trying to calm me down in Frankfurt before the show so I wouldn't faint and he said "I knew you were going to be here so I brought you something" And he had brought me the article about the Dido concert that had been in the local Frankfurt newspaper afterwards, which I thought was really nice
So waiting in Cologne was kinda fun, despite the sunburn. It then turned into that usual stressful phase right before the gates are being opened so I got worried again, but again I was the first one to start running I was not the first one to get in tho because two guys were better runners than me! But I still got my spot in the front, right in the center. I was a bit emotional already because I knew (well I thought I knew) it was gonna be my last show and I didn't know what to do without Dido because for the past weeks, she had been the only thing I had concentrated on. I talked to Mark a bit before the show, but for some reason I don't remember what we talked about. I remember he asked why I loved Dido so much, but I don't think I knew a proper answer. When the concert began, it turned out it was the best concert so far. Dido was in an especially good mood and so was the crowd. Except for me, I was a bit in between. But I managed to enjoy it and hold myself together until "White Flag" which I knew was the last song before the encore. So I started getting really emotional and cried. I thought I was going to be able to stop after a little bit, but it got worse. It sounds funny now, but I felt really bad so I kept looking at the ground, hoping Dido wouldn't see because I thought it was probably gonna make her feel just as bad or at least think that I'm really stupid. There was this one girl standing next to me and she had won a meet and greet with Dido so she had seen her before the show and she very sweet and all like "If I'd known you before, I would have given you my pass, this is not as important to me" That was just a really sweet thing to say So I was crying like a baby (well, not the sobbing kind of crying, but the tears streaming down your face kind of crying) and Dido came back on stage for the last three songs. Ulrich, who was standing next to me, told me she was looking at me all the time which wasn't too hard to believe because after all I was only about 2 meters away and I had the spotlight pretty much right in my face, but I was still hoping she wasn't gonna notice me crying. Must have been my confused state of mind lol So when she came to "See the sun", she thanked her whole crew and the audience and everyone because this was the last concert of the European tour except for the UK bit. But she then said this "You know, there are people who come to more than one show... respect" and she smiled and pointed at me and I was still crying and this was just going to make it worse, but it was the sweetest thing to do and she then sang "See the sun" and she looked at me a lot during the chorus which was really amazing because it just matched my feelings and the whole situation so well !!!! After Dido had left the stage, I was trying to get out of the venue as quickly as possible, but it took me a while, because everyone was trying to get out. I was hoping to maybe see her leave, but I didn't have much hope because she had left so quickly after the other shows so I was assuming that by the time I'd get outside, she'd already be gone.
But she wasn't! Some security guy told me she'd still be inside and you usually can't trust on what they tell you, but apparently he was right. It was Graham's birthday that day so they were celebrating. It was about 10.30 but my train back to Hamburg (to go pick up Lucy) didn't leave until after 2 am so I surely didn't mind waiting. Mark came outside after a while and asked how I was. He said he was gonna tell Dido I was there. I also asked whether Dido had noticed I was crying and he went "Duh, of course she did" and I felt even worse and asked what she'd said and he said she'd said "That poor girl is crying out there."
Funnily, I was the only one waiting except for a group of people who came and left and the security told me he knew them because they were at almost every concert there was to get autographs and then probably sell them. So they weren't the nicest people, but the security was pretty nice, so I talked to him until Dido appeared!!! She was about 50 meters away from me in the backstage area and I just went "Dido! Please!" She turned around and saw it was me. I don't know, but it looked like she didn't want to come until she saw it was me and she then walked up to me and said "Hey Anne" So the security guy then let me pass the gate so I could walk up to her. It was really cute cos again I didn't know what to say but she smiled like you smile at little kiddies and God I'm such a baby! I just lifted my arms up to get a hug without saying anything and Dido said "Awww" And hugged me !!!!! I felt like I so didn't want to let her go and while I was hugging her she said "Thanks for coming to all the shows" but I just went "Mmh" lol I then asked whether she'd read my letters and she said "Yes and they were very sweet" Graham then took our picture and she had to leave pretty quickly she said "Gotta go to bed now" or something and I told her I was coming to one of te UK shows which I had pretty much just decided that moment lol So she said "Okay Anne, so I'll see you there" She then left and waved as she drove by. Dido is the best !!! Haha, and you should have seen those autograph hunter's faces They were so special. They were like teasing me being all like "Ooh Dido knows your name" but I couldn't care less I was all happy and I said goodbye to Mark and thanked him again and hugged him goodbye and made sure I told him clearly enough how grateful I was !!! I don't think I got any sleep on my train back home that night, but I was just soooo happy! I felt really good! So this was an awesome Dido summer! But London was going to be the summer final !!!
Anne xx

Dido- concert London, August 19th 2004
So here's what happened in London ... I left home very early on Thursday morning which was like 5 am or so and I arrived at Stansted airport at 9.45 where I met up with Angelo (Bitty on the forum, sorry if I didn't spell it right !!!!) from Italy who'd come to see Dido, too. So we took the train into London and SOMEHOW found our way to Brixton, trying not to lose hope over the London Underground maps lol We arrived at the venue at 11 something and guess who was the first to get there !!!! hehehe ... lol Well, we found out a bit later that Lucy from France and her friend had actually been there earlier than us, but they were waiting at the wrong entrance so it took us a while to find them.
So it was still really early and Angelo was eager to explore London, but I wouldn't leave the venue so we were just waiting and we were lucky enough for the weather to be okay, too! We talked to some people including shlij who'd come by to meet us and Steffi and Fernanda (also from Germany) whom I'd already met in Cologne. Time was passing by really slowly and the queue didn't start to build up at all! Charlie and Ruth arrived btwn 2 and 3 and even then, there were only like 9 of us lol So we did lots of chatting as it was just nice to finally meet each other in person We were talking about our previous Dido experiences and looking at pictures and stuff. Steffi, Fernanda and me made friends with Detlev, the German driver who's a really nice guy and it was just funny to find someone German in Dido's crew.
Dido arrived at five and Mark did shortly before that. He came to talk to us and he was carrying a bag so Ruth went "What's in there?" and he's like "Oh, that's for you" and he handed it to us. He'd brought us food So sweet lol He was like "Cos I knew you wouldn't have eaten anything... " When Dido arrived, there weren't that many fans waiting so she was signing autographs for everyone but first - she came straight up to Ruth and me to say hi cos she knew us! She went "Hey Anne" and wanted to sign the scrapbook I made her right away so I was like "No, you're not supposed to sign it, you're supposed to have it " and I asked whether she was gonna look through it and read the letter and she said "Of course I will" and I also passed on messages from Emma and Isabel to her, too so I'm sure she'll read those as well. And I got my pic taken with her and Ruth and I asked for a hug and we got one She only stayed outside for 3 minutes or so, but it was awesome! Ruth and I were so happy, we were like jumping up and down and screaming until the doors opened sometime btwn 6 and 7 . The show was awesome! I was so excited that I totally forgot about everything else and focused on Dido only (which wasn't that hard because we were standing in the front row of course and had the best view ) so I was so focused on her that every ten minutes or so I'd be thinking "It's so weird everyon here speaks English" and then I'd be like "Oh right, you went to London!" I went to London Yay, I felt really good because I had come a pretty long way ! Don't know what it was, but the show was really awesome! It somehow had a whole different vibe to it then the previous ones and it was just the best ever. Also cos I was completely happy! I was so happy, ppl around me were telling me my eyes were sparkling all the time! I was warned by lots of ppl not to go. They said Cologne had been so special to me and I was not supposed to ruin my memory by going to London and possibly getting disappointed because I wouldn't meet her again. So I was actually worried that might happen, but I had ALREADY met her and I had already had my picture taken so it could only go on getting better! And it did! I so enjoyed the show! More than ever, I think! And the people filming for the DVD were like filmimng me constantly. All the time! So now I'm hoping I'll be in it for half a second so I can just pause the DVD and show it to everyone! The camera guy was like "You must be a true fan, yeah, keep cheering" But I didn't really pay attention to all the cameras... And during "Thankyou", Dido was standing right infront of Ruth, Charlie and me and when she came to the end of the song ("I want to thank you..." ) she kept pointing her finger at each of us! I'd thought I was just making it up cos it was what i wanted to see, but Charlie told me after the show that it was absolutely obvious that that was what she was doing ... OMG Dido is SO SWEET !!! The show was so brilliant! Even tho Dido was talking less than usually, but that might have been because of the recording for the DVD. Anyway, I so loved it! I was enjoying it so much, I could like physically feel it. I know that sounds insane, but I was just extraordinarily happy. I haven't felt this good in forever, I believe. So when the show was over we said goodbye to Charlie and Ruth cos they had to go, but I was waiting on Dido since I had lots of time anyway lol The show was over at about 11 and it had become really cold. It was freezing cold! Might have been cos I was extremely tired, but I was extremely happy, too so I didn't care So I spent the next two hours waiting with Steffi, Fernanda and Detlev.. And I got to talk to Alex, too and he told me how much Dido appreciated me coming to so many shows I was like "She talks about me?" and he said that she'd talked about me a lot after Cologne cos I'd been so sad and crying. And he said it actually got her thinking about HOW MUCH I would actually have to love her to travel after her and not get any sleep in btwn but spend the nights at train stations and to get so emotional. Well, I had actually been worried that once she'd start thinking about it, she would think it's really weird and she'd get annoyed, but she didn't ! Alex said she was really touched and she appreciated it a lot !!!!!
I then spoke to Mark again and asked whether she'd liked the book I'd given her (it was a scrapbook with lots of concert pics in it) and he said he was gonna pm me when he finds out and I said goodbye to him cos it was probably the last time for us to meet cos he won't be travelling with Dido anymore in October I will so miss the Tour Diary Updates!
Oh, and then Dido left She came out again and signed autographs for those who wanted one and I asked about the book and she said she hadn't had a chance to look through it yet cos she'd been doing interviews but she was going to. When she'd signed all the autographs, she came back to me and we took another pic and I told her I'd loved the show and that I was coming to Rotterdam and she hugged me again and said "Thanks for coming such a long way" and we said good night and she left to go home.
I'm so excited still! And I'm not even that sad it's over like I was after Cologne, I'm just very, very happy and I hope it's going to last for a while. I can't wait to go see her again but I thought I was gonna be really low after this one, too. But I'm not. At least not yet. I'm so happy I can't even tell you HOW. I was so worried I might not get to talk to her or that she might think I'm annoying but it doesn't look like she does. Graham was really nice, too. Before she'd arrived he'd been like "No grabbing, no kissing, no hugging !!!!" and he let Ruth and me hug her anyway (well, we'd asked lol) and he was very kind and if Dido was annoyed, he'd probably be rather harsh with us cos I bet he'd know. Anyway I'm excited I went! It was so worth it! Just for having her come up to me and talk to me for a second I'm really happy And I have more pics Alex was like "Whoa, you're having a real collection" lol and it's just about to start! So when Dido had gotten into her car, I said goodbye to Graham and thanks for letting me come up to Dido and all and I also thanked him for taking my picture with Dido in Cologne and apologized because I had not told him Happy Birthday that day even tho I knew they were celebratingt it, but I had been too nervous to say anything. But Graham was really sweet as apparently all the people around Dido and I got a goodbye kiss on the cheek which i considered very special LOL! I the ran across the street to quickly show Mark my new Dido pic on my digi cam before he could get on the bus and I almost got hit by a car :shock !!!! But, well, I didn't ! So I told Mark a proper goodbye and I got another kiss on the cheek which made me wonder whether they had been partying a bit too hard before they'd left lol !!!!
So that's pretty much it I did miss my early morning plane tho cos I'd fallen asleep and I woke up 40 mins prior to departure and those stupid ppl wouldn't let me get on anymore !!!! So I had to wait till 4 pm instead of 6 am!!!!! And I had to pay an extra 40 pounds, too. Duh. But nothing ruins my mood here! That did suck a lot, imagine how tired I am, but it was all worth it! I would have swam back if I'd had to! So London was the perfect ending to my Dido summer and I can't wait for my Dido fall with two shows in Paris and one in Rotterdam! Can't believe how this can make me so happy, but it does!!!!
Thankyou, Dido !!! Love, Anne xx

Dido- concert Munich, July 17th 2004
I had originally planned to go to all the German shows except for Munich cos Munich is about a ten hour trip from where I live but after Frankfurt, I just couldn't miss any! So I called my cousin Yasmin who lives in Munich and asked whether I could stay with her for the weekend and she told me she was gonna go see Dido with her friends anyway She's in Med School and had decided to treat herself with the concert as a break in between all her studies! So I told her to get me a ticket which wasn't too hard cos it wasn't sold out, while I made flight arrangements because it turned out a flight was about the same as going by train would have been and it was much more comfortable! So five days after the Frankfurt show, I was on my plane to Munich
I arrived on Friday and Yasmin had to study so i went to explore Munich a bit and to check out the venue and the best way to get in again. Turned ut the venue was this huge town sqare in central Munich that had huge buildings all around it that had been built by Hitler during World War 2 or something I didn't quite get the historical part of it and while that seemed to be rather sad, it looked pretty impressive! So I went back home and started my letter to Dido Cos the thing is, that we had this party at New Year's Eve last year and we were talking about our goals for 2004 and I said I was gonna get to know Dido! So I definitely had to start to get her attention because it really was my most important goal for this year! I'd never thought it would turn out this well and I would really get to see her multiple times, but I had hope to meet her at least once! So I lay on my cousin's bed and wrote a letter to Dido. But how do you write a letter to someone you love so much and tell them how you feel without sounding insane? So I wasn't too sure about what to write and how to write it until I decided to just write what comes to my mind and I was telling myself that if she hated it, I'd never know anyway! I told her how much she means to me and how much I had enjoyed the Frankgfurt show and that I could really relate to most of her songs and the thing I wanted her to know most of all, that if I had one wish, I'd be her little sister because I thought she sounded like the best big sister ever I also put three pictures I had taken in Frankfurt in the letter and I asked her to sign them and send them back to me. My cousin was pretty doubtful and said she probably wasn't going to so I added a self-addressed envelope to the letter, hoping she'd just stick my pics in it and put it in the mail somewhere.
The concert was on Saturday and it was the hottest day of the year so far so I was all excited cos I could wear my pink Dido shirt and I could wait in the sun My cousin and her friends didn't wanna come and wait early with me so I went on my own. I was the first at the gate this time and the securities were making fun of me cos I was wasting that sunny day sitting on the concrete! Now that was kinda true, but I didn't mind. A couple of men joined me after a littel bit which surprised me cos they were like twice my age and I thought it seemed a bit obsessed for a group of men to sit there waiting for Dido for hours, but I didn't say anything cos I probably wasn't and didn't seem less obsessed And also, they turned out to be really nice and talkative and when it SUDDENLY started to rain like hell, one of them gave me his raincoat and he got all soaked while I didn't So that was really nice and gentleman-ish. I was a bit worried about my letter tho. I had tied it to some sunflowers so I would be able to give it to Dido more easily, but both, the flowers and the letter, got pretty wet cos I had not expcted it to rain at all I was worried about my photos in it, but I couldn't help it anyway. We barely got to hear any of the sound check, mainly because the stage was set up so that we were waiting right behind it but also because the rain was really loud.
I was really excited again, but also really stressed because I was worried they were going to open the other gates first and I was worried about my front row place and all, but it turned out I was going to be the first one to be let in and I just started running without any idea where I was going cos it was all a bit weird. So I was more than relieved when I could hold on to the barrier and I was able to relax a bit. The rain had stopped, too, but it was bit gross still because everyone was really wet ... The bad thing was that the stage was like MILES away from the front row barriers! I was shocked! There was no way I was going to be able to give Dido my flowers because it was seriously like 10 meters away !!! So I tried to talk the securities into handing my flowers up to Dido, but they were a bit mean and said they weren't allowed to and stuff. The concert started later than it had in Frankfurt so by the time Dido came onto the stage, it was getting dark. That made the lightshow a lot more amazing, but it was harder to have eye contact with her, not only cos it was dark, but also cos the stage was so far away Anyway, before Dido sang "Don't leave home", she started talkng about how it was not a love song and that guy nxt to me shouted "Yes!" and she looked at him and said "No!" which sounded really cute and since I was standing right next to him, holding my flowers, she looked at me and went "Flowers!" And I was getting all hyper again cos she was talking to me so I went
"You need to read my letter"
-"You're too far away"
"I know, but you need to read my letter!!! Please! You have to! I love you" (I must have sounded like some psycho )
And Dido then said something about folding it into a paper plane and throwing it up on stage lol But I went
"Can't you ask Mark to come get it?" and Dido was smiling and said "Duh, I'm having a real cnversation here .... " And she then started singng DLH. I got kind of emotional then, but it was really dark, so people might not have noticed Our second convo followed when she announced "Take my hand" but she hadn't said it was that song yet so I screamd "Take my hand" and she was like "Yeah ... you just ruined my whole story" Everyone was laughing and it was funny, but I felt a bit bad and I was worried she was gonna hate me now, bit I realize that was a bit dumb. I was getting back to being really excited when I spotted Mark in the security pit tho! I hadn't seen him in Frankfurt, but when I saw him this time I was calling his name and waving at him until he came up to me. He came to us and started taking pictures of us which wasn't exactly what i had wanted but anyway! He gave me Alex hat that had landed in the pit cos the crowd was so far away And I gave him my flowers and my letter to Dido and I told him it was really important it was gonna get to her and that I was going to be at all the German shows and all. He took my flowers and promised he was gonna get them to Dido. So I was really happy when i left and hoping by the next show, Dido might know who I was. We left the venue right away and went to some college party at my cousins's friend's house cos I thought Dido was gonna leave to go to Vienna right away again. So I was a bit wee wee'd off when I checked the tour diary the next day and saw that they had spnt the night in Munich! So I might have been able to meet her .... Well, I wasn't too upset, cos I was just looking forward to the Hamburg show !!!
